Dedicated to a certain someone...

I heard
That you're settle down
That you found a girl
And you're married now

I heard that your dreams came true
Guess she gave you things
I didn't give to you

Old friend
Why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back
Or hide from the light

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it
I had hoped you'd see my face
And that you'd be reminded that for me
It isn't over

Never mind
I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead

You know
How the time flies
Only yesterday
It was the time of our lives

We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise
Of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it
I had hoped you'd see my face
And that you'd be reminded that for me
It isn't over

Never mind
I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead

Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made
Who would have known how
Bittersweet this would taste

Never mind
I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead

Never mind
I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead

Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead

Day 07

Vanilla Twilight by Owl City

The stars lean down to kiss you
And I lie awake and miss you
Pour me a heavy dose of atmosphere

Cause I'll dose off safe and soundly
But I'll miss your arms around me
I'd send a post card to you dear
Cause I wish you were here

I'll watch the night turn light blue
But it's not the same without you
Because it takes two to whisper quietly

The silence isn't so bad
Till I look at my hands and feel sad
Because the spaces between my fingers
Are right where yours fit perfectly

I'll find repose in new ways
Though I haven't slept in two days
Cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone

But drenched in vanilla twilight
I'll sit on my front porch all night
Waist deep in thought because when I think of you
I don't feel so alone
I don't feel so alone
I don't feel so alone

As many times as I blink
I'll think of you tonight

I'll think of you tonight
I'll think of you tonight

When violet eyes get brighter
When heavy wings grow lighter
I'll taste the sky and feel alive again

And I'll forget the world that I knew
But I swear I won't forget you
Oh if my voice could reach back through the past
I'd whisper in your ear
"Oh darling, I wish you were here."

Day 06

Skeletons on Parade by Ludo

Behind a curtain of towering pines
The sun settling red
A city hidden high in the hills
Comes out to honour the dead

Families somberly walk through the town
They build  alters and pray
Clean the tombs and watch rosaries
And speak of better days

From the edge of the island
They ferry back to the shore
They climb under their covers
And pray a little more
In this ancient city of stones
They sigh and bow their heads
The living seem rather well,
Dead

Ohhhhhhhhhh yeah...

The sun is down
The earth shakes
The wind doth howl
And I'm making moves all across the park
We're sitting in the dark

The caskets squeak
The trees wheeze
The crypts all creak
And toes sepulchered for months and months in dust
Are wiggling off their crust
Woah

Shed your shrouds
Slip your fingertips through the ground
Get those catacombs open I'm hoping you'll join us
Everybody come on out! Yeah!

What a lovely lovely night
For a drink and a parade
We'll dance until the morning light
This town should be afraid

What a lovely lovely night
For a drink and a parade
We'll dance until the morning light
This town should be afraid

Candied pumpkins, sweet egg bread
We love rising from the dead

Carpals, tarsals, vertebrae
That's us clanking on parade

I move without any muscles
My skull's a cavernous hall
Tendons are made for pulling my friend
I don't need them at all
Mescal in our mandibles
And porridge on our ribs
Their prospects are looking quite grim

Board the mariposas now
Set sail for the quivering light ahead
We're descending on the town
The living we're scaring
Nightmaring in fright
They've waited forever to bring us together
We finally wake them up tonight

Yock dehay!

 Yock dehay de yockity hum
The devil is happy to say
Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Yock dehay de yockity hum
The devil is happy to say
Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Flee the mausolea
Fly sarcophagi
Pandemone the plaza
Tibia-fibia-fie

You ligamentary lifters
Your fractured foolish plight
Pluck yourself from your gravesite

Yock dehay de yockity hum

Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Yock dehay de yockity hum

Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Yock dehay de yockity hum
The devil is happy to say
Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Yock dehay de yockity hum
The devil is happy to say
Heaven is having a hell of a time
Skeletons on parade

Goodnight all my children now you must rest your heads
You wouldn't want the sun to catch you missing from your beds

Day 05

We Believe by Good Charlotte

There’s a woman crying out tonight
Her world has changed
She asks God why
Her only son has died
And now her daughter cries
She can’t sleep at night

Downtown another day for all the suits and ties
Another war to fight
There’s no regard for life
How do they sleep at night
How can we make things right
Just wanna make this right

We believe(x6)
In this love

We are all the same
Human in all our ways and all our pains
(So let it be)
There’s a love that could fall down like rain
(Let us see)
Let forgiveness wash away the pain
(What we need)
And no one really knows what they are searching for
(We believe)
This world is crying for so much more

We believe(x6)
In this love

We believe(x5)
In this love

So this world is too much for you to take
Just lay it down and follow me
I’ll be everything you need
In everyway

We believe(x6)
In this love

In this love
We believe
In this love
We believe
In this love
We believe
In this love

Day 04

You Had Me at Hello by A Day to Remember

I'm missing you so much, I'll see you die tonight
Just so I can get to you before the sun will rise
I know these times are hard and I feel this too
But none of that ever seems to matter when I'm holding you

And I'm wasting away, away from you
And I'm wasting away, away from you

What have I gotten into this time around
I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again
But I didn't have to, you had me at hello

I've never seen a smile that can light the room like yours
It's simply radiant, see it more with every day that goes by
And I'll watch the clock to make my timing just right
Would it be ok, would it be ok if I took your breath away

And I'm wasting away, away from you
And I'm wasting away, away from you

What have I gotten into this time around
I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again
But I didn't have to, you had me at hello

You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)

You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies at the mailbox
(You had me at hello)
You gave me butterflies
(You had me at hello)

What have I gotten into this time around
I know that I had sworn I'd never trust anyone again
But I didn't have to, you had me at hello
You had me at hello
You had me at hello
You had me at hello

Day 03

Hey Jude by The Beatles

Hey, Jude
Don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

Hey, Jude
Don't be afraid
You were made to go out and get her
The minute you let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better

And anytime you feel the pain
Hey Jude, refrain
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders
For well you know that it's a fool
Who plays it cool
By making this world a little colder
Na na na na, na na na na

Hey, Jude
Don't let me down
You have found her now go and get her
Remember to let her into your heart
Then you can start to make it better

So let it out and let it in
Hey Jude, begin
You're waiting for someone to perform with
And don't you know that it's just you?
Hey Jude, you'll do
The movement you need is on your shoulder
Na na na na, na na na na, yeah

Hey, Jude
Don't make it bad
Take a sad song and make it better
Remember to let her under your skin
Then you begin to make it better
Better, better, better, better, better, oh!

Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude
Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude

Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude
Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude

Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude
Na na na, na-na na na
Na-na na na, hey Jude

Day 02

Amnesia by Virgil

You're getting harder to remember
No, I didn't get your stupid letter
So this is getting weird I'd better go

What of this helpless crazy talk
Enough of getting skinny
Doing lots of drugs
'Cause we've paid for our mistakes enough

Oh...

Can we start over I want to be new
If we could start over I'd die into you
I promise to learn and to love what you give
If we could start over again

Trust that my heart has never hurt this much
'Cause I've never let it bleed enough
And I miss you, but I don't miss us

Oh...

Can we start over I want to be new
If we could start over I'd die into you
I promise to learn and to love what you give
If we could start over again

Yeah...
Hey, oh yeah...

You're getting harder to remember
No, I didn't get your stupid letter
So this is getting weird I'd better go

Can we start over I want to be new
If we could start over I'd die into you
I promise to learn and to love what you give
If we could start over again

Can we start over, I can't see your face
If we could start over I'd try to behave
I live in a house but without any doors
So can I come over to yours

Behind every 'yes' is a thousand 'nos'
That's 999, only one more to go
Oh, one more to go
Oh, one more to go
Yeah...

Day 01

The Silence: Mayday Parade

Torn in two, she lies awake
The moon lights up the room like day
Another night she spends alone
Without his touch, her skin so cold

The blood that's running through her veins
With every beat there's no escape
Lost in everything she trusts
Still can't seem to get enough

Even though the world she loved
It won't ever be the way it was
And his heart of stone left hers breaking

Every night she cries
And dies a little more each time
Say you love me
Nothing left inside
Say you love me
And the silence will set her free

Memories they take her back
Every moment fades to black
Every kiss and every taste
She wishes time would ease the pain

Even though the world she loved
It won't ever be the way it was
And her heart is weak
Her hands are shaking

Every night she cries
And dies a little more each time
Say you love me
Nothing left inside
Say you love me
And the silence will set her free

Cause every night she cries

I don't know if I'll ever make this right
Cause I am just so broken by the bitterness of loneliness
And I'm so scared of this
I don't know if I'll ever make this right
Cause I am just so broken by the bitterness of loneliness
And I'm so scared

Even though the world she loved
It won't ever be the way it was
And his heart of stone left hers breaking

Every night she cries
And dies a little more each time
Say you love me
Nothing left inside
Say you love me
And the silence will set her free

Every night she cries
Every night she cries

And the silence will set her free

Intro:

So I thought this would be an interesting idea to get my creative juices a'flowin'. For the next 30 days, I am going to post how I am feeling through lyrics to a song. I haven't been able to post much over the past few days (or weeks, I'm not entirely sure) due to some personal issues that I have been dealing with. So I am hoping to get this back up and running. Day 1 will be right after I click the little "publish to post" button. Stay tuned!

Love,
Skylar
